SciFi and Fantasy Art: Hark! 'Tis the old rogue! And it is! Sebastian, the eternal trickster and swashbuckler, with his hand on his... belt buckle? Hehe... eh. *Ahhem.* I had trouble with the legs for three hours - I tried to draw them in the real, realistic proportions. Of course, I finally... cheated and went with my superdeformed legs. *COUGH.*
| | | | | Date | Name | Comment | | | 1 Sep 2003 | Baskerville | *Hellhound Dance* I can see where you've been erasing the legs, hehe! - it's especially apparent on the thumbnail version. Still lurve your style. Sebbie is just so - well, he's Sebbie. Who else could I compare? *g* Love the braid and the hand on the belt. Toni J. Kaukinen replies: "I swear, I had no idea I could draw the left arm like that.
Maybe I'll even colour this one and give him a pink little bow tie on the braid..."
| 7 Sep 2003 | Aila Kantoluoto | Awww.. That would be too cute. Superdeformed it should be! "What then if we would all look the same?" Whatever. I feel sorry for the head. It looks really lonely up there. Little thing on wiiiiide shoulders... But really, the belthugging hand. *cheers* Toni J. Kaukinen replies: "I've always had trouble with the shoulders, but this is the first time anyone has bothered to tell me they've noticed. *G* Thanks. I'd really need a live model to practice on (...uurrrm...) and so, but I'm actually more comfy with the quill these days. Wyvern's Library! Yay!
That said, you wouldn't happen to have any updates, would you?"
| 8 Sep 2003 | Jukka J. Matikainen | Seems that your style hasn't changed, although it has improved. Poses are evil, especially if you want to make them interesting. I think you've succeeded well with this pic. Anatomy...it's a pain in the ass. Hmmm...he'd make a great high-jumper with those legs! Neat. Toni J. Kaukinen replies: "Who needs anatomy? (...hmm... well...) Ahem. Yeah, my style likely won't change anymore, since I'm far too comfortable with this one. *Cackle.* One part realism, half a part anime, half a part something odd. 1:1, anyway.
And boy, he's a jumper, all right...
Whee. Sugar, coffee." | |
| 12 Sep 2003 | Aila Kantoluoto | Actually, with those legs he looks, in a twisted but not mentally distracted way, like me about 12 years ago. My grandpa said I'd become "pitkänmatkanpainija" whatever that would be. Anyway, no I wouldn't happen to have any updates. Sorry. Now that I'd have an inspiration for some fantasy stuff, all my painting/drawing stuff are in Lahti. I'm not. So bleh. Okay. Laters. Toni J. Kaukinen replies: "Gwihihihi--
Whaaaaaa?! Lahti? *Blink.* You're... from... Lahti and I live... just fifteen kilometres eastward and go to Lahti practically every week and all these years and...
Oh, shoot. This is funny."
| 14 Sep 2003 | Aila Kantoluoto | *shoots* I just moved three weeks ago! Maybe we'll bump into each other some day... When you least expect it... Oh sheesh that's scary. BOO! Toni J. Kaukinen replies: "This is remarkably funny. But yeah, maybe we'll bump into each other one day... if we already haven't. Heh. Damn me for stifling my curiosity in the past. " | |
| 15 Oct 2003 | Wendelien Meijer | Terve.... S'been a while ne? You're definitely improving, the linework looks much more loose and dynamic without being too chaotic? (Do I make sense? I should..I'm studying to be an art-teacher now...started this year) I like the hat. But I always like your hats ^_^ And the unthinkable has happened...I have an update qeued....I know I said 5 a year...hopefully it'll be three heh.. Neways, drop me a line if you feel like it/have the time. Tchau! | |
| 17 Oct 2003 | Kelinor | Ooh! Sebastian! Amazing line work here, v v pretty. Nice sense of reality too. yay! n_n | |
| 7 Nov 2003 | Baskerville | And just so you know, we're still completely buzzed to have a Snog Original(tm).
Not just because I can keep on telling everyone "there's a long-legged, long-haired bishyboy hanging around in my brother's bedroom looking sexy", though that's fun too.
And yes, he needs a pink bow. And cute fluffy bunnies on his shirt.
| 1 Dec 2003 | Athey (M. Rauh) | There is a distinct difference between this drawing and your others. I'd let you guess what it is, but that would get in the way of my acting quite superior and telling you, while looking down my nose, exactly what it is. He looks like he's going somewhere. Some of the others, despite their intensity, despite any drawn background, seem frozen forever in a moment. This one is frozen too, but the moment is frozen, not him, he's already off doing something extraordinary. There's a life in him. You've captured life! Now I want to see some intense colors to match the way all the eyes you draw bore into a person. Got me!?! Don't look at me like that! I'll start drawing when I'm in college and am no longer worring about applications and other nonsense! For now you will just have to keep the lead in the race and I will catch up to your mastery of the pencil when I'm ready. Toodles! | |
| 17 Jun 2005 | Ruth 'Cookie Monster' Browne | It feels really weird to be commenting here when the last comment is dated, like, December 3rd... 0_o But I couldn't help it! This guy looks like the main character of my story. It's the braid. lol long legs! But very cool. What's wrong with long legs? You're an excellent artist... hmm. 'cept, yes, the head seems just a bit too small for those shoulders. Kudos on the hat! *cookie_monster* | |
